|1 cup||Borden® Finely Shredded Sharp White Cheddar Shreds|
|½ cup||salsa, thick and chunky|
|⅛ tsp.||cayenne pepper, optional|
MELT the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
ADD the flour whisking constantly and cook for about 1 minute. Add the milk, a little at a time. Once about half of the milk has been added, add the remaining milk, and whisk until the mixture is smooth.
BRING to a simmer, lower the heat to medium-low and cook, stirring for 2 to 3 minutes more or until the sauce thickens.
ADD the cheese and stir until it has melted. Stir in the salsa and cayenne pepper, if desired. Serve immediately.
