Warm Bavarian Pretzel Dip

Cheese and mustard are a great combination, especially when served with warm soft pretzels.

2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 cup milk
1/2 cup Borden® Sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 tsp. grainy mustard
MELT the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
ADD the flour stirring constantly and cook for about 1 minute. Add the milk, a little at a time. Once about half of the milk has been added, add the remaining milk, and stir until the mixture is smooth.
BRING it to a simmer, lower the heat and cook, stirring for 2 to 3 minutes more or until the mixture thickens.
ADD the cheese and mustard and stir until the cheese has melted. Serve immediately.
The best way to avoid a lumpy sauce is to add the milk at little at a time at first. If the milk is added too quickly, it’s difficult to blend it with the flour.
